Sonorama Records founder, label manager, vinyl addict and promoter Ekkehart Fleischhammer has been spinning records since the late 80s. He started the label in 2004 and there will be the 35th release in summer 2008. Today, Sonorama belongs to the few pioneering and sought after jazz & funk re-issue labels worldwide. Its goal is to resurrect rare and soulful music from around the world, finally making it available to appreciative audiences - vintage jazz, funk, soul, afro & latin gems, that have completely vanished from markets and memories, sought after by DJs and collectors, all remastered, many unreleased, some remixed or re-edited. Names on CDs, LPs and 7inches include jazz greats Mark Murphy, Greetje Kauffeld, Afrobeat treasure Mombasa, Brazilian legends Vera Brasil, G/9 Group plus many other brilliant artists and remixers.
"Ekki" played clubs like Soul Connection, Afrodisia, Unique or Vinyl Vibes with his exceptional rare grooves, but also convinced the likes of Microsoft, BMW or L`Oréal on corporate events. Check out his selection to understand his motto "... it`s about music archaeology, an infinite search for soulful sounds, about tracing unrestricted musical diversity and the love for good music in general" ...
